Hello friends,

I am not much into amateur photography and i am only an normal camera handling person only for tours and family function. Seeing some of your photos especially moon photo by prakash, i would like to upgrade my camera which is presently i am having only sony cybershot-7.2MP and adding telescope also.

Kindy advise my budget is below 25,000 for all the accessories.

Also need advise on the telescope part also which i came across in e-bay & another site.

Srini, you will need to decide on a SLR before going for the telescope+adapter.

I need advice on SLR also which shall used/suitable with the telescopes... I have never ventured into photography in detail. My budget is 25K as indicated with all accessories.

Srini for an entry level SLR check out the Nikon D3000. If you can up your budget to 55K then get the D90.

It'll be nice if u can stretch your budget a little bit.
You can consider Canon 1000D or Nikon D3000 with kit lens

Very nice to see your interest into photography. My advice to you would be to have a long term plan for building up your accessories and invest more on the lenses and less on electronics. Electronics keeps getting outdated!

As an armature an entry level DSLR like Canon 450D or 1000D is more than enough. You may want to buy it with the kit lens to start with and depending on what your photography interest is (like Macro, Landscape or Astronomy etc), you can keep adding on as time goes by!

Don't try to buy everything in one shot (esp if you are new). Buy incrementally to make sure you make the best out of your investments!

Dear friend, My advice to you is not to buy any of those crap items...they are just not good for Moon photography....They come with aberrations, distortions, vignetting and more so with very poor optics...

I am into Astronomy, Telescopemaking and astrophotography for almost 3 decades....

If you are in Bangalore and have time... I shall help you to make a decent Telescope with which U can use take moon pic. and observe planets...

There is no substitute for good optics....the other option is to invest in long range telelens of good quality.

I am looking for black friday sale in USA and i have ordered Nikon D3000 ( Nikon D3000 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens) for $449. Hope to get the kit by next month.

You can advice me what i can upgrade / Immediately i can go for another USD200 ONLY for this month budget.. I am interested in photographing Natural Landscapes/Astronomy
