Good introduction into the world of Macro! Did you use a zoom to get this close?

Hi,
Those are indeed good photos! Good work and patience.

Which Macro lens do you use?

I guess going forward, posters should also include the camera model, lens configuration & settings used for the particular photographs.

This would be a real benefit for those who are still budding!

Thanks,

Nitin.

Hi,

Thanks for the info! The Sigma lens is sure promising as well! How would you rate the Sigma lens with the Canon lens(es) you've used so far? i.e. in terms of image quality and build-quality? Do we have any service centers in India for Sigma?
I have a Canon EOS 500D with 18-55mm IS and 55-250mm IS lenses, and am now considering a wide angle and a macro lens.

By the way, did you use a tripod for these photos?

Do keep up the excellent work!

regards,

Nitin.

Hi Nitin,

As far as macro is concerned you can go for Sigma 150mm or sigma 180 mm, though canon has cracker macro ones in their line, like Canon EF 100mm f/2.8, but they are too expensive and you get the same kind of quality in Sigma 150mm which is comparatively less, I have used this lens and few of my friends are also using this and felt that it’s the best for the buck! In terms of image quality and built quality.

Impressive gear for wide angle consider Sigma 10-20 or Sigma 12 -24 mm if you are really interested in wide angle or go with 18-55mm it's a decent lens for landscapes, for macro decide as i mentioned above.
