    Default Amateur Occasional Photographer

    Hi everyone,

As stated, I am an amateur and occasional photographer. I bought my first camera in 1982. I have a Nikon FE film SLR (which I cannot find right now in our household) with a 1.8 prime lens, a Canon Photura film P&S, a Canon Powershot A85 digital P&S and a Nikon D3000 digital SLR with the 18-55 3.5-5.6 VR kit lens. I am considering buying a AF-S series prime lens.

In addition, I have also owned two Sony video cameras, the first of which was bought in 1991 and was a semi-pro sort of expensive model. However, currently the video camera is basically lying unused.

Because of a busy schedule, my photography is mostly limited to during vacations and family occasions.

I am not a skilled photographer, but enjoy this activity whenever I have the time.

I would particularly love to learn about post processing with RAW formats.

    Regards.

    Hi AsitDe,

Hey you surely do have a great collection of cameras. You need to carry your smallest camera (P&S) with you when you are travelling and you will be surprised with what you can come up with.

You are certainly right about that. My son is nowadays carrying around the Canon A85 (only 4 MP, but a good camera with manual features). That pigeon shot is beauty in simplicity - nice blurring of background, may not always be possible in a P&S.

    Hi Sonicview,
I plan to post a few pictures, perhaps next weekend, because I am pretty naive about these things. Thanks for the encouragement.

    Regards
