Default Sony DSC H9 polariser, filters & lens

I am an new enthusiast and have a Sony DSC H9 camera. This is an 8.1 MP 15x megazoom camera with some manual options as well and the best I can afford. I need advice regarding purchase of polariser and RGB filters for this camera in NCR and the best price at which these are available.

Also I need advice on by how much I can increase the maximum zoom available if I buy a telephoto lens of 2x magnification. Will it simply add up to the 15x zoom on the camera lens and take up the zoom to 17x or would it work out to be more. Please advise.

    Regards,
    AJ

Hello AJ! Welcome to the forum.

Congrats on your purchase of the Sony H9.

First of all for the Sony you will need a 74mm filter. You can buy this filter from any Sony World shop in your area. If they do not have it you can always request them to get one for you. It costs 7K and you can read about it at VF-74CP : Lens & Filter : Cyber-shot Accessories : Sony India

If you are willing to BUY online for Rs.1250.00 + shipping from Amazon see Amazon.com: Opteka 74mm High Definition² Multi-Coated Circular Polarizing Glass Filter for Sony Cybershot DSC-H7, DSC-H9, & DSC-H50 Digital Camera: Camera & Photo

    Hi Jagat,
Can I buy this polariser from Amazon and pay in INR. Also do you have any idea what the duties and courier charges are likely to apply.

    Regards,
    AJ

You can order if you have a international credit card. Most Indian credit cards are valid internationally.

Polarizing Filter Sony DSC-H9: bias, it is possible to deepen and intensify blue skies, achieve vibrant color saturation, reduce or eliminate glare and reflection, the non-metallic objects and glass surfaces, and minimize haze. The filter can be rotated to determine the amount of reflection has been removed.
