Thanks. I shall take your suggestion and see if I can improve the two you suggested. Actually I am a bit surprised the way the Ross Island photo has come out through Picasa (may be I pressed something unknowingly). The photo is meant to be a bit darker and contrasty than that. I have a large printout of that picture and the printout looks absolutely okay.
I'll try that out tomorrow and will post whatever comes out.

All the images here were captured in fully manual mode and do not have post processing (except a couple of them receiving minor light adjustments in picasa).
A special thanks to Srikanth for suggesting picasa to me for the watermarking. I do not think anybody would steal my very humble pictures, just that it feels great to have my name on the picture.

The Greens with beach in the second pic is heavenly. Is it then true that certain cameras have their own trademark colours. Like they say that Canon cameras give a certain pop to colours.
