Hi,

I have a chance of getting a handycam thru a friend in Dubai. Need some advice on which one to buy and from where?

The cam would mostly be used to capture my 2-yr old daughter's antics and need to have good low light results. I'd prefer a HDD based cam...

Till now, I've been using a Sony handycam (can't remember the model)...

any pointers would be appreciated

I would suggest you to consider a Canon camcorder. Canon has been in the photography industry for quite some years with proven record.

Canon LEGRIA HF20 or HF200 are quite good, according to the specs.

They use Digic III processor for the processing which is found in some of the mid to higher end EOS DSLRs.

i own a canon zr 100 an us model and it does wonders, try to use some good editing software and you will really enjoy the handycam.

Hi, any Brand HD model is better choice and Memory card reader Micro SD models are better in quality, faster and much portable than HDD models, we can get 16 gb or 32 Gb cards and that better choice. Sony or cannon or other with HD are on par may be your pocket size decide the specs more.
